Procurement Manager

Sustainably caught fish from well managed fisheries is at the heart of the company’s ethos. The promotion of MSC and RFS accreditation is a priority at Falfish. The company has rapidly grown over recent years operating in the UK and European retail sector and wholesale / food service business. As part of our ambitious strategy we are recruiting an experienced seafood purchasing professional. This is a great opportunity to be part of a successful close knit team in an exciting business.

The role will be responsible for the procurement of a full range of sustainably caught demersal, pelagic and shellfish as well as aquaculture fish. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, the role involves a strong element of sales development and account management.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience in multi-species fish buying, excellent negotiating skills and strong commercial acumen. The candidate must have a good understanding of UK and European fish markets and ideally have worked in a BRC accredited processing environment. Essential qualities are: a resilient nature and a team player who will be influential at a senior management level.

The successful candidate will have excellent IT skills and be numerate with a strong analytical ability combined with excellent verbal and written communication skills, and will be highly self-motivated and positive.

Night Shift Production Supervisor

Falfish are actively seeking to recruit a Nightshift Production Supervisor.

The main role will consist of working within a team of supervisors maintaining cross departmental processes and procedures for key elements of priority customer accounts. Responsible for supporting departmental teams on the night shift and day shift rotas. Providing day shift cover during close season in order to underpin the supervisory team.

The successful candidate should ideally have minimum of two years experience in a production role at supervisory level. Experience in food production at BRC grade would be advantageous. However, previous experience in whitefish processing is essential. Good IT skills and a willingness/flexible approach to work are a must.
